The cover for The Scarred Heir has arrived! So, now there's a face to go with the title.

And, I also got the first round edits for The Scarred Heart today. Need to start working on those immediately. So much to do, so little time. *sigh*

January will be here before you know it. But first - I still have a wedding to finish planning.

On January 10th, Sweeter Romantic Notions will be holding a Pitch Day. What, you ask, is a Pitch Day? Well, my friend, it is an opportunity for you to pitch that great manuscript you've finished to an editor from a publishing house. It is an excellent opportunity to bypass the slush pile.

All you have to do is join SRN's group and be online on January 10th. The rules for the day are in the Files section, so don't forget to read them carefully. Then polish up that manuscript and pitch.

What is SRN? This is taken from its frontpage: The mission of this group is to give a platform, home and voice to authors and readers, for those who read or write sweet (Love Inspired, Wild Rose Press) to mainstream sensual (Berkley, Samhain, Tease) level stories in traditional romance and other genres.

While we have nothing against erotica--some of our authors also write erotica--SRN was created as a place to promote the sweeter end of the spectrum. So, if you have a manuscript that meets the guidelines, come and join in the fun!

Well, it seems like I haven't been out here in months, but it's actually been only a few weeks. Not much going on in my world, but things will start ramping up soon as I begin promoting my new release as we get closer to January. Did I ever mention how much I dislike blowing my own horn? *sigh*

So, today is a friend's birthday, so I want to give a shout out to Lyn Cash, aka Cash Cole, aka Bobbie Cole, aka Sunny. Happy Birthday my friend and I hope there are many, many more in your future!

I'm still waiting on a cover for The Scarred Heir, due out in January, but in the meantime, you can go to Samhain's site and read an excerpt - actually it's the entire first chapter. I'm sorry they didn't put up the Prologue, but I'll get that up on my website soon. Until then, just click on the Coming Soon logo in the top left of this blog and go check it out.

So, life is about to get hectic with less than a month to go until my daughter's wedding. We are excited, but there's still a lot of work to be done. This weekend the final decision on the last bridesmaid was made. Yeah, we are cutting things a bit close but, unfortunately, that's the way we tend to work.
