The Union Jack
The flag of the United Kingdom is a composite of three different flags:

1. The flag of England - which bears the cross of St. George
2. The flag of Ireland - which bears the cross of St. Patrick
3. The flag of Scotland - which bears the cross of St. Andrew

This Day in History: The flag pictured here is the first version of the Union Flag created on April 12, 1606. It consists of only two of the flags. Which one is missing?

I believe it is the flag of Ireland.
