OMG...Sound of Music. I love it, too, very much!

Oh you make me want to watch it again.

Those are all great musicals! :) My mom likes all of those. She was in South Pacific in high school, so that one holds a special place in her heart.

Oh, I love musicals.

Best memory of a musical: when my younger son was about 2, he had two favorite movies: The Crawling Eye and Singing in the Rain. One of them had a scene in it that never failed to scare him and make him start crying, though he still wanted to watch it over again.

It wasn't the Crawling Eye. It was the pie in the face scene in Singing in the Rain.

So many great musicals there! I'd have to add the Broadway version of Miss Saigon, Rent and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to the list, too.

Happy TT.

The King and I has some of the most beautiful music...

I'm a guy raised in the kind of house where I saw every Clint Eastwood movie multiple times before I married and moved away. Lovely Wife on the other hand is a wonderful singer and loves musicals. I've seen most of these and loved many of them myself. I have to watch our DVD of Sound of Music every couple of years.

I got a bit misty the first time I saw Beauty and the Beast, though I covered it well and noone seemed to notice. I still get chill bumps when he turns back into the man at the end.

All of those are so wonderful!! Sound of Music was on TV about a week ago and I was so happy to be able to watch it! My favorite is probably The King and I followed by My Fair Lady.

Happy TT!

when we were still working at the same tv station, my friend Jen and I would get all of our work done early - just so we could watch the Sound of Music when it was aired! :)

Happy TT!

Oh Denise...WONDERFUL list. I would add to that: "Les Miserables"--although to my knowledge it hasn't been made into a movie musical yet--and "Phantom of the Opera."

Stop by my TT when you can!

I'm with you on the Lion King and The Sound of Music. Awesome! We're headed to our local highschool's musical tonight, a pirate theme. It's a great way to expose our children to the theater without going broke. Plus, the highschool is 2 minutes from our house, lol.
Blessings,
~Toni~

Great list! I love musicals. I'd add Les Miz, too, and I'd probably also add The Producers. I just saw it this year, and it was wonderful.

I'm singin in the rain...
