Thirteen Favorite Songs From My Past

In no particular order other than as they came to mind.

1. Almost In Your Arms by Nancy Wilson
2. My Girl by The Temptations
3. Can't Get Next To You by The Temptations
4. Tears Of A Clown by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
5. The Great Pretender by The Platters (my Mom's favorite and it rubbed off)
6. My Boyfriend's Back by The Angels
7. Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight and the Pips
8. Leader of the Pack by The Shangri-Las
9. Last Kiss by J. Frank Wilson
10. There Goes My Baby by The Drifters
11. Love Child by Diana Ross and The Supremes
12. Silhouettes by The Rays
13. The Twist by Chubby Checker (note: edited because I realized I'd duplicated a song)
~~I could have gone on and on, but alas I had to stop at thirteen!

Those are all fantastic songs! I love everyone of them and they all bring back memories of listening to my parents records as a child. They just don't make great music like that any more. Thanks for sharing your list. Happy Thursday :)

Oh no, now I am going to be humming My boyfriend's great songs.

Ooh, the good stuff! This was the music I asked for at my wedding. We didn't get as much of it as I'd wanted, sadly.

Happy TT! Thanks for visiting West of Mars.

I'm a sucker for music and books.

When I was growing up, I listened to CCR with my dad. Those are still some of my favorite songs.

While this was a wee bit before my time, I did grow up on "old" stuff... mainly Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday.

I have a really great memory of My Girl by The Temptations. I was eight years old at a friend's camp party where I knew only her. My girl came on the stereo and suddenly I was dancing with a nice man and on the chorus my girl, my girl the other fathers present playfully grabbed me. I felt like I was in a movie.

Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Blogger Tink said...

I don't know most of them. I'm looking for them online as I'm typing this and will tell you later what I think :)
