I couldn't resist this one.
Have you ever heard of Danica Patrick? She's the woman who briefly held the lead in the Indy 500 in 2005 (eventually finishing in fourth place) and established herself as able to compete with men on the race track. She has opened the doors for many young women who love racing but might not have considered it a possibility before then.
As an article in the Deseret News (Salt Lake City) on the Indy 500 began: A few thousand jokes died on Sunday afternoon.
The first joke happened in 1908 when the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio baldly declared: "
Women are not physically fit to operate automobiles." Huh?!?!? One wonders what he was smoking - and whether people really believed him.Today's Question: In honor of Danica and all the little girls who know that someday they will be able to drive and possibly race. . .Name that idiot.
